From the ring road (A10) take the exit S109 (RAI). At the traffic lights turn right. You will reach a roundabout. Turn right again here. You will now be driving on President Kennedylaan. At the exit before A2 Utrecht, turn left onto Rijnstraat, whose name soon changes to Van Woustraat. At the end of Van Woustraat (crossroads Stadhouderskade), continue straight and then turn right at the first set of traffic lights. After approximately 100 metres, you should see the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam on your right.

From Almere/Amersfoort/Groningen:

From the ring road (A10) take the exit S112 (Duivendrecht, Diemen, Amsterdam ZO). At the end of the road, follow signs for Amsterdam Centrum. You will now be driving on the Gooiseweg. At the end of this road, turn right at the traffic lights onto Wibautstraat. Approximately halfway down the street, you should pass the Sarphati Plaza on your left-hand side. Before this, turn left at the traffic lights onto Stadhouderskade. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right, then make another right at the end of the road. After approximately 75 metres, you should see the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam on your right.

From Alkmaar/Zaandam/Volendam:

From the ring road (A10), take exit S116 in the direction of Amsterdam Centrum. You will now be driving through the IJ-tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, continue straight on Valkenburgerstraat until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout, turn left onto Weesperstraat. Continue until you reach Weesperplein. Next, turn right at the traffic lights onto Stadhouderskade. At the second set of traffic lights, make a right and then another right at the end of the road. After approximately 75 metres, you will see the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam on your right.

From Utrecht/Arnhem/Maastricht/Breda:

From the A2, follow signs for Amsterdam Centrum (S110). You will now be driving on Rijnstraat, whose name eventually changes to Van Woustraat. At the end of Van Woustraat (crossroads Stadhouderskade), continue straight, then turn right at the first set of traffic lights. After approximately 100 metres, you should see the Intercontinental Amstel Amsterdam on your right.
