Global asset management firm SECOR has announced it is opening a UK office in order to expand its international capabilities.

The company received its license from UK regulator the Financial Services Authority in July.

SECOR partners Jeroen Wilbrink and Thierry Bollier will lead the London office. Wilbrink will oversee SECOR’s European advisory and portfolio solutions businesses, and Bollier will focus on firm-wide risk management and research, and development of SECOR’s alpha strategies and portfolio solutions businesses.

SECOR’s co founder and co chief executive Tony Kao said that the company knew there was no substitute for local knowledge and “seasoned professionals on the ground.”

“Our team has a long and successful history of managing pan-European pension assets and advising pensions on every aspect of their portfolios.”

SECOR currently advises pension clients across seven European countries.
