SEI launches engagement service for European clients

UK and European clients will now benefit from new corporate governance, social and environmental engagement service from fiduciary management provider SEI, in association with F&C Management Limited, for its Dublin-registered equity funds.

The service, SEI said, highlights the organisation's position as the only fiduciary manager in Europe to incorporate engagement for manager-of-managers funds.

F&C's Responsible Engagement Overlay service, which provides dialogue with companies on corporate governance, social and environmental issues, will be used, and engagement will take place with corporations whose stock is prominently held within the SEI Equity Funds.

Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI's Institutional Business for EMEA, commented: "We are very pleased to announce the addition of this important service to our Fiduciary Management offering in the UK. At SEI we believe that a key part of our duties as a Fiduciary Manager involves the ability to offer an appropriate level of governance covering environmental, social and corporate governance issues. We appointed F&C because of the depth and breadth of their engagement process and the fact that they are widely recognised as Europe's oldest, largest and most innovative SRI specialist. We were attracted to an engagement process because it allows for improved governance without compromising the choice of our managers or their stock selection in any way."
