Pension provider PensionDanmark has entered into a turnkey contract with entrepreneur KPC to build two sustainable apartment blocks on Islands Brygge in Copenhagen.
The Sirius project, which consists of two identical 14-storey towers with 116 flats in the residential complex HavneBryggen, in continuation with the buildings Polaris, Pollux and Castor. It follows the recent partnership PensionDanmark has had with KPC, building housing in Ørestad Syd, another Copenhagen area.
The buildings, which room about 20,000 square meters, will have the sustainability certification DGNB Gold and will be finished in 2021.
PensionDanmark CEO Torben Möger Pedersen said in a statement: “We are looking forward to building with our turnkey contractor KPC again, which we have good partnership experiences with. We are making attractive housing with a unique location close to the water and recreational spaces in exciting surroundings with lots of life.”
“We expect as much interest from these flats as there has been for our first housing projects on Islands Brygge. Therefore we are expecting a sensible return on the investment for our members,” Pedersen said.
The towers will include basement parking, balconies which run around the buildings with rainwater collection boxes for a green irrigation system. The building will be built with a high use of sustainable materials based on life cycle analyses and environmental risk and the exterior includes plants accustomed to the Danish climate.
KPV København director Jesper Henkel said: “KPC has over a number of years built good relations to a number of the market’s biggest investors who we are building for repeatedly because investors with KPC as a team player has experienced that buildings are handed over within the time frame and to the agreed price and quality.”
