News in brief, mandates and product launches from this week

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has enhanced its liability driven investing (LDI) strategies with the launch of ten leveraged gilt funds. The range which includes fixed gilt funds and index linked gilt funds will offer pension schemes and institutional investors a way to extend inflation and interest-rate protection in their liability matching portfolios.

State Street Global Advisors has launched two currency investment strategies on Deutsche Bank’s dbSelect platform which is used for accessing liquid hedge fund strategies. Investors will be allowed to access SSgA’s developed markets currency and emerging markets currency strategies through this new initiative.

Friends Provident International (FPI) has launched five risk-rated portfolios for use within its online portfolio planning tool, the Dynamic Portfolio Planner International (DPPi). The asset builder portfolios will help provide advisers with advanced risk profiling, financial goal planning and target asset allocation models.

ING IM has announced the launch of its Euro Covered Bond Fund to allow investors to diversify into mortgage securities without diluting the credit quality of their overall portfolios.
