Appointments update 20 April

- Mercer has appointed Rich Tuff as UK head of retirement administration. He will be responsible for developing the business as well as overseeing a wide range of administration services for over 800 pension schemes with roughly one million members.

Tuff began working at Mercer in 2010 as a senior client relationship manager and since then has held a number of senior management positions, including most recently, central functions lead. Prior to joining Mercer, he led client management for Towers Watson’s Administration Head Office, having started working there in 2000.

- AMP Capital has appointed John Angell as head of distribution for the UK and Europe. He will be based at AMP Capital’s London office and will drive AMP Capital’s engagement and relationships with institutional investors throughout the UK and Europe.

Angell most recently ran his own consultancy business. Previous roles have included managing director and head of EMEA for Brookfield Investment Management, head of Man Investments (UK), regional head – London for RMF Investment Management and head of UK equity product and senior fund manager for Schroders, where he worked for 14 years.

- The Pensions Trust has appointed Peter Vickers as regional development manager for the south east. He joined The Pensions Trust in February 2015, following 18 years in the financial industry. He specialises in supporting advisers and employers with both DB and DC schemes. He has spent the last 15 years working with employee benefits specialists, most recently working for Capita.

- Investec Asset Management has appointed Jeff Boswell and Garland Hansmann to its global multi-asset team to further expand the firm’s multi-asset investment capability under the leadership of team co-heads Michael Spinks, Phillip Saunders and John Stopford.

Both join from Intermediate Capital Group PLC where Boswell was previously head of high yield, and Hansmann was head of portfolio management within ICG’s credit fund management division. They bring with them a combined 30 years of experience and significant expertise in managing credit strategies.
